Press Kit

SPECTRE is an upcoming serial narrative, scifi, indie audio drama podcast premiering on May 22nd, 2022 created by Stef Howerton. As a performer and avid writer, Stef has been involved in multiple audio drama podcasts as a voice actor, but in 2019 she decided it was time for her to step up and create a show of her own. Thus SPECTRE was born. Spanning the genres of mystery, science fiction, and thriller with its character-driven story, SPECTRE seeks to keep its listeners guessing until the very last episode. The series tagline -“Amnesia. Telekinesis. Piracy. What’s next?”- serves to intrigue listeners by informing them of some, but most assuredly not all, of the challenges that the characters might face throughout the run of the series.

Inspired by fantastic shows such asGirl in SpaceandMarsfall, SPECTRE weaves a tale of unfettered exploration of the wild, uncharted expanses of space, throwing the crew onboard into dangerous, life-threatening situations while also solving a larger, overarching problem with military overstep and unchecked technological growth. It is a story of survival in the harshest of elements, found family, and remembering who you are in times of greatest trial.

This is an intricately crafted and masterfully sound-designed audio drama, with an original score that draws you in and wonderful characters that will play with your heart and keep you on the edge of your seat. The crew of the ship is endearing enough that you can't help but root for the scoundrels even when they're neck-deep in trouble - and there's no way to see what's coming. SPECTRE is fun, exciting, and perfect for fans of Firefly, The Expanse, or science fiction in general!

- Tal Minear, Actor & Audio Drama Producer

The captivating soundscape of Spectre really drew me in. I felt like I was really with the characters and along for the ride, even as I was still getting my footing of the story and characters. The intrigue of finding out Rho's story along with her is refreshing, and I can't wait to listen to more. My most burning question: WHO IS GRAPE?!

- Emme Dewitt, Author

SPECTRE launches you right into frantic action, addicting intrigue, and a strong desire for more. Stef Howerton's excellent writing and immersive performance as Rho sucks you right in, and with the seamless accompaniment of Tim Rosko's composition and Brad Colbroock's magical sound design, Spectre feels like a blockbuster film for audiophiles.
